How To Download Music

Downloading music is obviously not as straightforward as the title leads one to believe. Obviously one cannot download cd's or mp3's without buying a copy from an online store or service. There are many alternatives as pointed out in a previous article here.

Most of us use alternatives like torrent sites, ftp sites and Peer to peer sites, however most of the time these methods end up only disappointing us due to slow downloads, or inaccurate file names, or incomplete files. Not to mention the potential of downloading a virus or some other sort of badware (learn about BadWare here) Although there really is no 100% reliable way to download full length music cd's or dvd's, unlesss they are offered free, or given through some sort of promotion.

Rapidshare Filesharing - The most common method to downloading movies, games, music and software are from file sharing sites like rapidshare and megaupload. The reason these sites are so popular is because of the file sizes and download limits. Rapidshare allows 100Mb file sizes and several Gb of downloads per day.

The newsgroups allow for a different option to downloading cd's and dvd's. Using the newsgroups and NZB files, one can download a full cd or even an entire discography, and start listening is right away. NZB Mmusic streaming allows the benefits of listening to cd's right away, while downloading other cd's and dvd's using filesharing sites.
