Avoid an RIAA Lawsuit!

Reduce the risk, avoid getting busted by the RIAA and MPAA!

Uploading and downloading from peer to peer file sharing sites, torrent sites is not a simple matter of download and share. You may get busted even though you are not mass sharing, or redistributing music.

Tthe distribution of copyrighted material is what the MPAA and the RIAA are targeting. Individuals that seed and share torrents and music files are prime targets. Thus, protecting yourself from a lawsuit is simple, and only requires a few steps.

1. Use private torrent tracker sites only.
If your IP addres is hidden, then it is harder to locate you.

2. Use a 3rd party anonymous service like PeerGuardian. PeerGuardian is free. Download it here: http://phoenixlabs.org/pg2/

3. Use a proxy that is based in a foreign country that won't care about U.S. copyright law. or use a vpn connection.

4. Use the encryption settings in your torrent program.

5. t Stay away from new releases. New albums will have more chance of getting you in trouble. These are always watched for much closer than older albums.

6. Use limewire or frostwire to download files. These are one-way programs, so you can download directly without ever having to upload.
